Has a faint fruity aroma. Body is an okay gold, little head on top. Flavour is of lemon, grain, and soft malts. Dry palate. It’s a very nice lager.

Draught at the taproom
Blond color. Besides being served too cold, it’s a very plain lager, without qualities; dry; correct bitterness.

Pours light yellow. Grassy, mildly hopped, generic pale lager. Nothing special.

Clear golden coloured body with a thick and soapy white head. Aroma of flour, honey, cardboard, super light malt and a small touch of hops - too much floral honey though! Super-light bodied; Strong assertive honey flavoured malty flavour with a strong watery feel. Aftertaste shows just about nothing, but a mild floral scent, some honey and a watery maltiness. Overall, pretty damn bland, but unoffensive. This isn’t really recommended, but not much from this brewery is that good - so this goes well in a suitcase and is good to bring back home - which is what I did! I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from the brewpub in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on 17-July-2008, sampled at home in Washington [D.C.] on 05-April-2009.

Sample, draught, drank on site, savoured on February 9 2007; eye: golden straw, slight effervescence, little white head, clear; nose: malt, hops; mouth: serious attack of hops, followed by the malt which does not give away its place, finale in malt supported by a good amount of hops, slightly grainy texture, fizzy, too carbonated, at last, I have found what displeases me about this beer: it seems to have tannins; overall: not a fan FRANÇAIS Échantillon, en fût, bue sur place, savourée le 9 février 2007; oeil : paille dorée, très légère effervescence, mousse blanche mais présence infime, claire; nez : malt, houblon; bouche : houblon attaque assez sérieusement, suivi du malt qui ne donne pas sa place, finale en malt appuyée d’un bon dosage de houblon, texture légèrement granuleuse, pétillante, trop carbonatée, enfin, je viens de trouver ce qui me déplaît dans cette bière : on dirait qu’elle contient des tanins; en résumé : pas un fan

On tap at Granville Island Brewery tap. Pale gold with thin white head. Pretty inoffensive lager.Nice sharp crisp on end. Trace of pukey malt on aroma. But the crisp dry finish is very good.

This beer gets worse by the minute. I gave it a 1.7 in 2006, and today in 2014 it is a 0.6. Hazy yellow. Union made aroma full of creamed corn, totally skunkadelic. Sour, grainy, mouldy. Thin. Like they brewed it with spent grains. Fucking awful stuff, GI Lager is barely even beer at this point.
