33cl bottle from Alvinne biershop. Holy hell this beer rocks, and it is not even the Pomerole version.

Bottled. A dark brown beer with a tan head. The aroma has notes of brettanomyces, caramel, and alcohol. The flavor is malt, caramel, brettanomyces, alcohol, and wood, leading to a tart finish.

33 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden amber with a small, creamy and tan head. Aroma is phenolic and roasted caramelish malty. Sweet malty, overripe fruity. Smooth caramelish and light sharpness from the alcohol and phenols. Smooth fruity finish.

16/II/2012 - 33cl bottle from De Hopduvel (Gent) @ home - BB: I/15 (2012-133)

Clear dark purple brown beer, aery beige head, unstable, little adhesive. Aroma: sweet sugary, raisins, cherry candy, cola bottles candy, ripe to rotten fruit, bit dusty, hint of smoky roastedness. MF: soft carbon, full body. Taste: pretty sweet start, sugar, dried fruits, caramel, mocha, dark candi sugar and raisins. Aftertaste: sweet sugary, little cloying, some bitterness from the hops, ripe red fruits, fairly dry ending.

Small tan-brown head over very deep-dark brown beer; end of bottle is solid sludge. Curious mix of (red)wine, vinous aroma, and a pinch of shellfish-like saltiness, a waft from the sea. Some green vegetables and dark malts/melanoidins. Overload of liquorice, jap, both sweet and salted. Brown sugar and some wood retronasal. The saltiness is definitely there in the taste as well, but it doesn’t really blends in, more clashing. Medium to well-bodied; alcohol and -warming in the aftertaste mainly. Misses balance - I fear sample is still too young to have reached its optimum already. One to store and age, I guess. Thanks to the brewers!
