Bottle share courtesy of Jeremy. Mahogany pour, sparse head. Sugary, fruity aroma. Taste come on very sweet, candy sugar and raisins, a bit too sweet actually. This distracts from the fact that you’re drinking a very strong beer, no evidence of the alcohol at all.

F: only thin yellowish film with some bubbles, quick gone. C: brow, hazy. A: dark fruits, dried fruits, figs, dates, candy, toffee, hint of spicy. T: rich caramel malty, figs, dates, like spicy orange peels, hint of chocolate, candy sugar, herbal, smooth oily mouthfeel, almost no carbonation, huge full body, yes this is awesome stuff, it sounds strange for this ABV but very drinkable, great beer, 0,33l bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck.

330ml bottle @ Chez Sophie 12.8%. Pours deep dark brown, bubbly tan head. Big beefy dried dark fruit quad aroma. Taste is smooth, rich sweet quadrupel flavours, a little syrupy and over-sweet perhaps. But then that appeals to my sweet-tooth.

Keg at the Hanging Bat. Pours clear amber with a thin beige head. Aromas of dark sugar, plum, booze. Taste is more of the same. Light heat, almond. Wish I’d had more time with this to let it warm up, but had to tan it and go!

hazy brown colour, half inch creamy yellowish head; aroma of dried figs and plum, grape, chocolate notes, hints of vanilla, biscuit and spicy alcohol; taste is the same with walnut notes and quite intensive alcoholic spiciness, too; really good quadrupel; I like it

Feb. ’16. A 0.33 l traditional fat little Belgian bottle, a gusher with a delay, these are the trickiest. :) Very hazy brown copper hued body, actually very pale for the style, with big head that went down very soon. Aroma of alcohol, wood, sweet dark fruit, fine but not too strong or complex. Flavor was lightly sweet, lightly acidic with an instant and durable alcohol bite. Fruity, liquory, even chocolate if you stretch imagination a lot. However, very yeasty in a stale way, which was bothering. Otherwise relatively smooth and full bodied, but not as much as one would expect for 14%. Longer finish, with quite less alcohol and warming than on the beginning. Sweet malty and yeasty here, too. Okay, pleasant, but I was not impressed at all. I was seeking for any complexity that that amazing quads have. And what’s with Alvinne and all that weird yeast? It’s not good, get rid of it! I remember you guys having some nice beers, now I’m avoiding you...
