A flavoursome cider made potent in the oak of a Glen Moray whisky cask with lingering tastes to be savoured. A gentle whisky flavour initially intermingles with subtle, medium dry cider, giving way to the distinctive full bodied flavour of the cask; finishing overtones of whisky. It offers all the flavour of the cask whilst keeping the light, fruity aspect of all the Thistly Cross Ciders.

On tap at Elizabeth Station, pours a hazy pale blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out medium sweet apples along with subdued whisky. Flavour is likewise pretty mellow on the whiskey, with medium sweetness from the apples upfront, light apple skins, and fairly high residual sweetness, venturing into cloying territory. Would like more whiskey. Unexciting and lacking complexity, and too cloying, but easy to drink.

Bottle from Tesco Danestone. It pours clear yellow with no head whatsoever. The aroma is bitter - sweet, earthy, musty, funk, apple pie, vanilla, earth and oak. The taste is crisp, sweetish, apple crumble, vanilla, apple tango, subtle whisky (I personally would have preferred more) and golden syrup with a dryish finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. I fine this a bit too sweet if truth be told. If I remember rightly I had this once before on cask, which was a fair bit better. OK.

Parking lot bottle in Anchorage with BeerandBlues2. Clear golden color, few bubbles. Aroma has vanilla and apple. Taste has apple flesh and light vanilla. Barrel is subtle, which is probably a good thing.

Keg at the Bootlegger, High Wycombe, 27/12/15. Clear light golden with a decent off white covering that retains well for a cider. Nose is tangy apple, straw, light smoke, subtle whisky. Taste comprises apple orchard, light sugar, straw, whisky vibes. Medium bodied, light spritzy carbonation, semi drying close. Decent cider, the whisky dumbs down the sweetness. Decent.

Bottle, small bubbly head, clear lightish yellow color, aroma of ripe apples, wood and spice, with the whiskey in the back, flavor of stewed apples whiskey and wood, light bitterness, stromg sweetness but certainly not cloying. Good full bodied cider.

Awesome cider. Great smooth apple complexity, light tartness, light vanilla/toffee/oak. Medium-high sweetness. Very drinkable/balanced.
