Ivy is a beer made with 100% regionally grown pale malted barley. In the kettle, it sees both three to four-year aged whole leaf hops, as well as pellet hops from the most recent harvest. Both are grown here in Oregon. It is the most simple of our recipes, yet one of the most complex in expression. One malt, one hop, our wonderful local water, and time.
Ivy spends two years in neutral wine puncheons. We choose from these barrels a blend that is funky, but not too funky. Tart, but not too sour. Complex, but still hedonistic. Really, a blend that we are happy to make, to blend, and ultimately to share, in celebration of our new home.

Bottle. CW online, probably. Mostly clear deep gold. Decent white head for the style. Nose has oak. Apple tannins. Some decent berry fruit. Bit of cheeky finger. Taste is dry and a little tart. Nice hop bitterness. Bright and clean on the palate. Lively, foamy carbonation. Light tart bitterness to finish.

Bottle pour at CW Family & Friends, Session 1 @Manchester Central, 20/02/20. Clear golden with a decent off white covering. Nose is big on funk, grass, citric peel, piss stained straw, damp cloth. Taste comprises green berry must, damp oak, barnyard tones, yeast strains, lemon tinged straw, gooseberries, light pissoi. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a big lemon shrouded acidic drive at the curtain call. Ok stuff .. not the best balance for me though.

Big bottle shared with Vasily, Beer Bubble and others. Murky dark golden, small off-white head. Aroma is funky, chewing gum, dust, wood, apricot marmalade. No acidity in aroma, immediate sourness in the taste. Leaves, apricot pit, very tart. There is lemon zest. Neat, gentle with a puckering, sour intense finish. Not sparing anyone. Moderate carbonation.
