Bottle. Really deep gold with a light head. Aroma is like bread and very malty. Taste is slightly sweet up front, well balanced in the middle with a a malty finish.

Sampled from a bottle this beer poured a vibrant copper gold color with a large creamy orange white head that lingered and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was yeasty and a bit phenolic and sweet with light fruits. The flavor was yeasty, phenolic and musty with a bubblegum presence. Long finish. Medium bodied and smooth.

Perfectly clear light amber and copper coloured body with a nice and quick dying off-white head. Aroma of metal, copper, grain and a dose of yeast with a touch of bread noticeable towards the end. Light to Medium-bodied; Nutty and very noticeable mineral and grain flavours permeate through the maltiness along with a light dose of caramel and toffee with some hop bitterness noticeable towards the end that clearly shows some german delineation. Aftertaste is quite bitter with the malt and yeast elements coming out first and staying strong, but also some light sweetness from the caster sugars and light toffee and a dose of grain at the end that shows the malts and yeast as well. Overall, a pretty funky beer with some bitter notes at the beginning and at the end, but overall, a fairly indicative beer for the style and one that has a lot of flavour and isn't shying away from the profile, but still leaning in quite hard, which doesn't always hit the mark. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Giant Food in Falls Church, Virginia on 18-April-2018 for US$8,99/six pack, sampled at home in Washington on 08-June-2018.

Pizzeria Paradiso, Alexandria cask ($6): Brownish gold body with a lot of head for a cash beer. Aroma is bread, booze, and a bit of hops. Taste is interesting, because it is one of the few heller bocks that have a booze taste and still taste pretty good. I think it was more apparent by the cask pour of this. Bread is the main flavour. Drinkability is absurdly high, but this too might have something to do with the cask. Pretty damn good.
