Draft pour at the silver leaf. Pours a cola black with a huge foamy tan head. Mild coffee roast and malt aroma. With a name like snake bite, I expected it to have a bite too it but this beer is so smooth. A bit of a dessert beer. Sweet vanilla and chocolate flavors with a sweeter finish. Overall, a really tasty porter. Really enjoyed this. UPDATE - I still remember trying this at 6am in Redmond, OR over 4 years ago. Bold roast. Less of a hidden gem as I remember it from near the source, but still a solid porter.

Sample at the brewpub. Brownish-black pour with a medium tan head that dissipates slowly. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and hops. Light-bodied with a roasty character and flavors of chocolate malt, coffee and hops. The finish is sweet with a malty aftertaste. Decent overall.

On tap at the brewery. My favorite brew of the sampler. Great aroma with smoke and some chocolate. Beautiful opaque with full head. Nice medium bodied mouthfeel.

Bomber. Black body. Frothy, tan head, slowly diminishing. Aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate, espresso. The flavor is lightly to moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly sweet, lightly to moderately bitter and lightly acidic. Medium body, watery texture and average carbonation. The beer is all about the roasted malts. Tastes of coffee, bitter chocolate and tobacco. Long, dry, bitter aftertaste. Body is a bit watery, but considering the low alcohol and low sweetness, not surprising. Enjoyable.

Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours black with a large foamy tan head. Aromas of chocolate and coffee. Med body. Flavor is slightly sweet, definitely has some coffee type bitter. I’d say the IBU understates. Not getting a lot of chocolate. In a way it’s a low impact taste. But there’s a lot of coffee and burnt malt. Goes down really easily. Try it. You won’t regret it.
