Tap at the tap house. Pours red with a creamy beige head. Aroma is resin. Med body. Flavor is floral/resin. Itโs very hoppy and finishes that way.
Earlier Rating: 8/27/2009 Total Score: 3.4
Can from Liquid Solutions. Pours very dark copper amber with a respectible beige head. Aroma of rather roasted caramel accompanied by floral hop. Near medium body with almost creamy carbonation. The roast malt has a harsh note, like so many browns, and the hop bitter is firm, seemingly more complex than indicated. For me itโs floral, citrus, spice, and a touch of resin. Maybe this beer is complex? Whoโd have thought. Drinks really well.

Clear amber beer. Very light toffee malt nose. Crispy semi dry palate. Toffee malt start, balanced with a little bit of soft hops. A little bit of metallic tang but otherwise an okay amber.

Whole Foods Market, DC sixer ($11): Pours a copper color with a creamy beige head. Aroma is light toffee, a tiny bit of hops, and some caramel malts. I think that the body was a little thin. It seemed to me that this beer didnโt really know what to do with itself. Not one of those hoppy high end ambers, nor is it a butterscotch complex one. It isnโt a lame excuse for a craft beer either, like most amber ales. In fact, it is a little bit of nothing. Drinkable and has some flavor, but nothing that I would want to drink again.

Canned at Stockholm Beer Festival. Hazy amber, mid sized head. Soft and doughy, above medium bodied with well rounded mouthfeel. Aromatic and floral, mildly roasty. Salty finish. An attractive, well balanced beer.
