Bottle at the new brewery. Amber orange, maybe a touch of brown, beige head. Aroma is citrus hops, orange, bit of twig. Taste similar. Nice though. Bitter finish. Crap rating as I had drunk quite a few by this stage and didn't really make proper notes. Rerate, Dec 16. Pineapple, lightly dank, tropical, minerals. Great!

Bottled March 2017. Golden color. Melon and citrus in the herbal aroma. Firm herbal hopbitter flavor. Earthy yeasty notes with melon and lemon.

Hoppy, grapefruit, grassy. Medium sweet, mineralic, tart.

Clear orange beer, big creamy irregular off-white head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: oh yes, Kernel still got it! Lovely tropical fruity notes, little cheesy, papaya, sweet ripe fruits, bit herbal. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: sweet malty backbone, some caramel, nice bitterness, bit spicy, grassy, floral, soapy touch. Aftertaste: herbal and spicy, bitter, some citrus, little cheesy, malty, bit sweet, nice one!

L’intéressant avec des bières mono houblon, c’est que cela permet de découvrir plus en avant ses spécificités. De plus quand la bière en question est réussie, on peut allier intérêt théorique et gustatif. Et cette IPA de chez The Kernel, sur une amertume finale franche et racée et sur une bonne base aromatique est très appréciable. Je regrette toutefois un résineux tendant sur le plastique sur le final. Robe blond abricot trouble (EBC aux alentours de 20) et mousse blanche nappant juste la bière en font une esthétique passable. Le Simcoe s’exprime fabuleusement bien au nez : Résineux en premier suivi d’agrumes et de fruits exotiques. L’attaque se fait sur un bon équilibre malt/houblon et de surcroît sur un très bon équilibre aromatique avec un résineux pas trop poussé et sur une bonne alliance avec les agrumes et les fruits exotiques. Texture agréable de surcroît. La deuxième bouche est dans la même veine, avec toutefois une amertume qui augmente d’intensité tout en restant encore mesurée. L’arrière bouche est quant à elle fraîche et fruitée sur un bel houblon allié aux agrumes et aux fruits exotiques. La troisième bouche est linéaire par rapport à la deuxième. Mais c’est sur le final, très long que l’amertume, franche et saillante s’exprimes entièrement, sur le pamplemousse et le résineux qui, comme évoqué flirte un peu avec le caoutchouc. Rien à dire sur l’alcool à 7,3 % Abv qui porte bien la structure ni sur le sucre arrondissant bien l’IPA. Belle bière.

Caňa en Cimmeria 27..05.. 2017. (r153). Color amarillento velado con espuma blanca persistente. Sabores frescos maltosos algo herbáceos con suaves tonos terroso y resinosos de lupulos maduros. Cuerpo ligero a medio fácil de beber algo espumoso y denso. 7. 3 vol que se dejan notar. Bastante buena para repetir sin duda. Refrescante.

On tap. @Cimmeria, Oviedo 19/05/2017 Color amarillo espuma blanca, aromas a medios a lupulos citricos con algunas notas herbales, el sabor es citrico seguido de un amargor medio con un cuerpo medio.
