On Tap at the brewpub. Hazy medium amber. Small off white head. Persistant lacing. Subtle aroma of sweet malts and citrusy hops. Inviting. Flavor was also subdued. Very nice balance with a long strong flavorfull bitterness. A bit of the VABV comes throught to betray its Doubleness. Nice.

Far and away my favourite double IPA. Fruity aroma with hoppiness. Full mouth with malt and hops. Caramel. Alcohol warmth without being overbearing. Nice hoppy finish that lasts.

On tap at Rose & Raindrop, Portland. Chestnut colour with disappearing beige head. Wonderfully balanced malt, strong grapefruit hop aroma. Lovely juicy malt in mouth and then huge IPA hops kick in

Thanks to Goldtwins for sharing this growler at kpβs Cellar Party. Pours clear amber with a three dimensional, dextrinous head of white. Good fragrant hop nose and the palate was dry overall and the malt and hop flavors were very well balanced.

Draught at Rose and Raindrop, Portland. Clear copper, creamy head. Grapefruity hop aroma. Sweet with medium body and soft mouthfeel. Lightly syrupy with loads of hops - grapefruit and licorice. Extremely bitter finish. Powerful, but doesnβt really do it for me.

First rated at Rose & Raindrop in winter β06 for a 3.3 overall score. Re-rate at the brewpub in Stevenson summer β07. Brigth deep amber. Aroma is actually somewhat scant...vague hints of chewy malts and citrusy hops. Not as clearly defined as with some of their other brews. Rich malts on the palate are just the happy side of cloying, and thereβs plenty of resiny hop. Compared with other WM brews, this plodsd along, bludgeoning your palate without nuance.
