12 ounce bottle from Whole Paycheck. Pours a dark copper color with a large white head. A light toast and caramel nose. The flavor is caramel, Crystal malts, some citrus. Hmm. Very sweet like a Oktoberfest. OK. Drinkable for sure.

Bottle from Brewers Haven. Picking up some Belgian notes right away, yeasty, musty aroma. Would not put this in as an amber, although lots of caramelly malt late on the palate. Cloudy dark amber body with small soapy head. Lingering bitter finish and minor warmth.

On tap at Hale's, pours a clear copper with a small beige head. Aroma brings out a mix of different hop varietals, with notes of citrus, pine and resin, some bready caramel malt as well. Flavour is both hop and malt heavy, with lots of resinous hops, which then transition to sweet caramel malt. After a while, the malt bill overtakes and leaves a rather high amount of sweetness. Okay, but nothing special.

2015 version. Deep Amber with a firm white head. Nice pine and light citrus hops with a good portion of toasted caramel malts. Full bodied. Full flavored Amber with a good malt and hop balance. Highly enjoyable.

12oz bottle - 8oz nonic glass - $1.25 at Traders Joe’s

2014 bottle, expiration date: 12/18/14, I am guessing that is 3 months out, so this is 2 weeks old. Medium head, leads to medium lacing Dark orange color, glowing in the light. Aroma is some caramel, some orange hops, some fruit yeast aspects, some light green grass aspects, and dusty yeastiness. A real mix of British style in a PNW brewery and a bit too much caramel. Mouthfeel has a bit of sparkle before the same flavors as aroma. Maybe a bit of rye spice at the end as well, but there is a lot of stuff going on and its not really my bag.

Bottle: Very cloudy amber with a whipped tan head. Aroma is herbal, hoppy, a hint of fruit. Taste is malty, bitter herbal/earthy hops. Creamy, smooth. Orange and caramel... Very good, but....I think I’d call it an APA, at least.
