Bottled. Poured red amber with white head. Overpowered astringency cause of the hops. Needs more balance

Draught keg at the Queens Road Tap, Leicester. Golden, hazy with a smattering of white head. The aroma is bedecked with hops: grassy, piney and floral notes with tropical fruits and melon. Sweet taste with tongue-coating hop oils leading to an intense bitter finish. Oily body, medium carbonation. There's an unfortunate vegetal note in the aftertaste, otherwise a masterful beer.

500 ml bottle, as 8 Wired Super Conductor Double IPA, from the Norwegian importer. ABV is 8.8%. Crystal clear golden colour, apparently filtered. Moderate white head. Intense aroma of fruity NZ and US hops, a remarkable blend of lychee and other tropical fruits, citrus and white grapes. Also hints of spruce and caramel. The flavour is very hoppy, fruity, resinous and bitter, but also quite sweet. Far from "perfectly balanced", but still damned good and tasty.

Keg at Craft Clerkenwell. Amber colour with small off-white head. Aroma is classic double ipa, caramel, strong hops, touch of citrus and grapefruit but full on malt. Some tropical fruit. Taste is good. Initial booziness, then fruit. Tropical fruit, pineapple, peachy. Pretty nice. Some lemon too. Nice spicy maltiness. Pretty good. Rerate, Nov. 16. Nice aroma, tropical fruit, bit of stickiness, slight resin. Taste is good. Feels light for the strength. Sticky again, mango, light bitterness, light skunk, papaya and some nice bitterness. Good stuff.
