Intens aroma van banaan met een frisse citrustoets. Volmondig met nuances van steenvruchten en citrus die worden geaccentueerd door de hergisting op fles. Fijnbittere, gebalanceerde afdronk.

Triple plus qu'honorable, je n'ai pas non plus été charmé par cette Affligem que j'ai trouvé un peu lourde en bouche. Elle en reste plutôt bien équilibrée et appréciable. En verre nous sommes sur un blond doré parfaitement limpide (EBC aux alentours de 22), de grosses bulles donnant naissance à une mousse très disparate et ne couvrant pas entièrement la surface. Le nez se porte sur le citron, la coriandre, la pomme, la poire et la banane. L'attaque est relativement fraîche, bien houblonnée sur des arômes d'emblée plutôt lourd, très orientés sur le miel/alcool/épices qui ont plutôt tendances à saturer le palais.Les arômes fruités présents au nez accompagnent bien entendu l'ensemble. La deuxième monte alors sur l'alcool et l'amertume avec une arrière bouche, moins houblonnée qui renforce cette lourdeur en bouche (mais avec une bonne corpulence). La suite est plutôt linéaire avec tout de même un final long, légèrement élancée. J'attendais tout de même plus.

Pours clear 'Tripel-like' golden with a frothy, diminishing, off-white head. The aroma contains banana (immediately in the smell after pouring), hops, spices, some citrus, yeast, apple, some iron (alas) and alcohol (jenever, perhaps). It tastes medium fruity sweet and medium bitter with a spicy, dry, alcoholic finish. Medium body, slick texture, fizzy carbonation. A bit wry due to the iron and alcohol in the finish; there is not enough hop bitterness to make up for the initial sweetness.

Bottle in some random bar. Clear darker golden with white head. No yeast depot which seems strange for a triple... Lots of sweet malts, honey, apricot, light cloves and esthery yeast. Quite sweet and medium bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Cleaned up triple, goes down well but nothing interesting at all.

From old tasting notes. Cloudy orange copper color. Big creamy beige head tops lots of tiny bubbles. Aroma hints at dried fruit. Subtle semi-sweet complex malt flavor, hints at maple, licorice and burnt caramel. Deep rich flavor that finishes dry and crisp. Full bodied, tasty and unique. Very good.
