Klassiek donkerbruin trappistenbier met een ivoorkleurige schuimkraag. Een vol moutige en karamelzoete smaak met een subtiele, zoete invloed van dadel, honing en gedroogd fruit. EBC 82.

0,33 bottle.
Its color is beautiful brown, velvety with an amber touch. The head remains thin and light cappuccino in color. The aroma is cognac, raisins, small alcohol can be felt, but more sugary dried-fruit. It also has raisins, caramel and sweet syrup. Quite complex and delicious, for me, the aszú-cognac notes came out much better than the roasted malts. Not sipping alcohol, smelling while drinking. For me, they were tastier in the category, but still not to be underestimated dessert beer. When poured, a very nice foam developed.
***
Színe szép barna, bársonyos, borostyán beütéssel. A hab vékonyan megmarad, világos capuccinó színű.

Rerate based on a checklist, old score: 8/5/7/5/5/15 = 4,0 Smell- medium strong, malt, yeast, Belgian, caramel, sweetness, honey.. nice Foam- thin, yeast, Belgian, acidic, caramel, banana, a bit of alcohol. Head is small brown, white light color, goes away fast. Appearance- possible beer specific bottle cap, the bottle also have 'Trappist' on it so all things considered it should be a bonus here. Clear ruby color, no carbonation. From- snifter Taste - malt, caramel, weak banana, weak Belgian notes. Some yeast and sweetness, a bit of roast. Generally malty and worse than I expected, feels watered down, but still very nice and light. Easy drinking one.

On tap at Cafe Gollem, Amsterdam on 16th March 2018. Cherry red with off-white vanishing foam and no lacing. Tart berry fruits and spices in aroma. Earthy pungency and berry fruits in-mouth, and a sweet fruity finish with caramel maltiness. Full bodied with an engaging texture.

Bottle from Pezinská pivná pumpa Classic dubbel, nice and yeasty, quite high carbonation doesn't really help enjoying it. But it is nice memory for Brugge.
