AB:11 is an imperial black barley wine brewed with ginger, black raspberries and chipotle peppers. A 12.8% rollercoaster of ginger zestiness, chipotle smokiness all bound together with dark berry tartness and the decadent residual body of a black barley wine.
Like all Abstrakt beers, AB:11 pushes the boundaries and challenges the perception of what beer is and what it can be. Brewed only once, AB:11 is excellent for drinking now, but also designed to be cellared for future enjoyment.

About the only Brewdog Abstrakt beer that has really disappointed me. The chipotle peppers dominate the taste profile. There might be a hint of Ginger, but I don’t taste raspberry or any other overt berry presence. The barleywine body and malt, as well as anticipated warmth from the alcohol level are unfortunately missing.

Nearly black, slightly oily, no head really. Aroma has dark malt, dried fruit, chocolate, a little smoked chili. No ginger anymore. Oily mouthfeel, no carb. Sweet flavour, prunes, chocolate, syrup, mild chili heat and nice alc warmth. Nice bitter finish.

Bottle. Hazy dark brown color with tiny beige head. Aroma is ginger, definitely smoked chili, not much raspberries. Taste is chocolate, chipotle, ginger in the back, a bit thin in mouthfeel, spicy catch in the back. Oily mouthfeel, almost flat. Solid stuff!

Shared bottle at RB/HD 14.07.18. Dark mahogany. No head nor lacing. Aroma of prunes, alcohol, liquorice and pine. Taste of prunes, wood, dried berrie and freshly roasted coffee balanced with moderate bitterness. Low carbonation. Good!

Bottle shared in BDSB - cheers! Pours deep brown with a bubbly, beige head. The nose holds strong ginger, moderate roast. Big sweet flavour with. Lee dominant ginger, chocolate, alcohol, scorched earth. Full bodied, oily and chewy, with fine carbonation. Hot finish, with more spicy ginger, baking cocoa, oily chocolate. Fun novelty.

This 375ml bottle, no.5033, was bought at the BrewDog bar in Shoreditch London in November 2012. Coal black body, naked surface, dotted spots on the glass. Aroma of dark spices and chocolate malts. Rather unusual taste profile with variety of prunes, ginger, caramel and dark bread. Lingering spiced fruity finish. Mouth filling. Something else, pleasing (Shared with Finn and djoeye at a rating session, Tromsø 09.01.2017).
