Roasted malts, dried fruit, some esters. But the aftertaste is a little ashy, bitter with a little cigarette smoke. I like Belgian of all stripes, but this one lost me.

Accents chocolatés, sucre candi, bonbons style jujubes et fruits noirs composent un olfactif assez complexe. Liquide brun avec nuances rougeâtres, partiellement voilé et fortement effervescent. Mousse énorme, crémeuse et persistante. Bien épicée et chaleureuse en entrée de bouche, développant par la suite une amertume sèche et astringente. Notes d’alcool assez présentes. Poivre intense, chocolat discret, accents de fruits rouges, de sucre candi. Des houblons terreux et herbacés nous donnent une amertume longue et âpre. Bottle ordered from Beautiful Beers, Bury St Edmunds. Aroma is sweet and gluey. Opaque chestnut. Massive fluffy foamy beige head. Initial sweet fruit and candy sugar. Followed by herbal and boozy bitterness. Liqourice. The bitterness mounts a coup d'etat, before the sweetness attempts a resurgence into the finish. Medium bodied. Slick verging on oily. Fizzy carbonation. Long astringent finish. Yum.

En tulipa, color marrón rojizo oscuro, opaca, espuma beige cremosa de buena conservación y abundante residuo. En nariz notas de maltas tostadas, frutos negros, pan tostado, pan negro, una punta de vainilla... En boca entra muy sedosa, de cuerpo medio-alto, primer trago algo dulce, frutal, aterciopelado, con notas de maltas oscuras y caramelo, segundo trago más amargo, ligeramente torrefacto, seco, con notas de cacao, frutos negros, frutos secos, especias y vino tinto. Terriblemente disfrutable, una muy buena cerveza, riquísima.

Bottled, unsure of the age. Brownish body, beige head. Caramelly, smooth aroma, alcoholic, sweetish. Smooth taste, caramel, oaky notes, bit metallic and bitterish. Not bad!
