Roman Candle was the first Bellwoods IPA. If you’re looking for a perfect, no-nonsense, hoppy and hazy American IPA, this is your jam. It provides you with all the excitement of a real roman candle, but without the common risks associated with pyrotechnics.

A hazy, dank and lightly resinous beer that showcases lots of juicy melon, apricot, and orange peel. Show Less

Tall can (thx, Kory V. for this extra!). Canned on 2017-10-11. Pours a murky blonde with a white head. Aroma is tropical fruits and a bit bready. Taste is similar. Very easy to drink, more like an APA, not IPA. Good stuff, though.

Bottle shared at a tasting at troubles’ place. Thanks Dean for this bottle! Hazy yellow with a white head. Great juicy fruity hops, tropical, citric, a bit "green", slightly oniony, dry flavor, moderately bitter. Very nice.

Keg at Brothers Beer Bistro, Ottawa. Lightly hazy golden, mid sized head with good lacing. Striking aroma of lime, physalis and bread. Mid dry with medium body and elegant, well rounded mouthfeel. Tangerine, physalis and white bread. Peppery bitter finish. Elite IPA with exquisite hop character, but more importantly a character underneath that and an overall harmony.

Keg and bottle from the brewery (2016) and can from House Of Trembling Madness (2024). Hazy golden body with a thin white head. No visible carbonation. Good lacing. Aroma of orange, lemon, lime, melon and flowers. Flavour of lime zest, hay, minerals and grass. Medium body with an oily texture. Light fizz. Fresh and zippy. A delicious fruity IPA - limey and tingling with hops.

Draught@Moeder Lambic, Brussels. Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is fruity, floral, some mild sweet malty notes as well as mild toffee. Flavour is very similar, with a quite big bitterness towards the finish.

Draught @ the brewpub. Pours hazy orangeish amber with stable off-white head. Clear aroma of hops and citrus, with touches of needles and fruit and malt. Bitter, hoppy flavour with fruity and needlelike notes. Touches of malt and yeast. Rich body. Medium to high carbonation. Lingering, bitter afteraste. Good. Very good.

Draught (6.8%) @ Lambic Foeder. Rated on 25.06.2015
Aroma has resin and pineapples. Very brewdog-like. Flavour has pineapple juice, biscuits, somewhat aggressive fruits and minerals. Also some gooseberry bush. Quite Punk Ipa -like, a bit better though.
