A Scottish stout with a wonderful rich dark colour. A smooth full bodied beer with subtle bitterness giving way to late sweetness and underlying roast barley hints.

Draft at the Loch Ness Lodge Hotel bar. Nose is light roasty coffee, chocolate, and a hint of vanilla. Extremely dark brown with a big, heavy lacing, tan head. Flavor is lightly sweet, lightly bitter, with lots of chocolate from the fairly viscous body of an ale which is only 4.4% ABV.

Loisto-ostos!

50cl bottle from Marks & Spencer, Camberley. An opaque peaty brown pour with a large tan head; caramel aroma; quite lively with a smooth creamy texture that coats the mouth, dry with a taste of well roasted barley and some milky oats; then a nutty caramel finish. A solid and satisfying milky stout.

Pours black with a small frothy tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, and black coffee. A sweet malty taste, lots of chocolate, some licorice, and a roasted coffee bitter finish. Nice one.
