At the mouth of the Camel Estuary in Rock, lies the treacherous Doom Bar sandbank, the inspiration for this moreish amber ale.

The sandbank is revered as a formidable nautical challenge that should be approached with respect and navigated with skill.

500ml bottle from Sainsbury's, London, England. Pours a clear bronze color with a khaki head and good retention. Good lacing too. Light bitters aroma. As expected, faint caramel flavor with some light bitters in the finish. Fairly mellow overall. Easy drinking. Smooth and clean. Medium-light body. Medium carbonation. Low, soft bitterness.

Old rating - A beer I've tried on a number of occasions both in bottle & from the cask. On this occasion it was from a warm bottle on the We Ferry cruising around Torbay harbour, with fresh fish & chips. Very enjoyable occasion, beer was passable, mostly toasted malt & caramel.

Kicsi, nem túl tartós hab, vöróses, félbarna szín. Malátás, enyhén karamelles illat. Malátás, leheletnyit édeskés, alig karamelles íz. Könnyű, alig szénsavas, nem keserű. Iható, semmi több.

Cask at Wheterspoons Mancherster. Had this one with breakfast with the hopes it'll bring me back to life after the long 1st night of FFB. Safe to say it did the job.

Bottle at an airport hotel bar. Pours a clear, amber color, with a fair, foamy, beige head. The nose is caramel, chalk, juniper berries, and sawdust. Sweet and malty, with a slick, poor bitterness. Light, sharp, and sticky. Weak and mediocre.

Drinks on first holiday in over a year. Slight head with a malty caramel aroma. The aroma followed through in the taste. No carbonation if slightly watery. Hoppy bitter finish. Very drinkable.

Cask at Little Owl, near NEC Birmingham. Light cloudy amber, small white head. Sweet caramel, fruity resin, earthy, a bit tangy with a herbal bitterness. Slick body with a tingly carbonation. It's ok.
