This coffee stout will send you across the water to a new state of java-nirvana. Two-row malt, roasted barley, and Guatemalan coffee come together to celebrate the beer's sweet chocolate and earthy flavors. Staying true to the name, we source our beans from right under the bridge via hometown coffee-shop, Café Moto.

Tap at the Grub. Coffee is very subdued, porter type fruitiness, little bit of sweetness, only a hint of coffee. Touch of caramel in the finish. Not sure what the point is. Cola cubes. Guess Coronado beers are not for me.

Draft pour pint, enjoyed in Buena Park. A dark and dense cola brown pour, active tan fizz head. Some sweet milk chocolate up front, coffee is low bitter and pretty modest compared to expectations. A smooth stout, creamy. A little more towards the dessert variety. Pretty good.

Bottle pour into taster cup at One Stop Market 30th Anniversary. Appearance is very dark brown with light brown head. Aroma is dark fruit, coffee, chocolate. Taste is like the aroma. Palate is medium bodied with smooth, creamy texture, soft carbonation and balance of sweet/bitter mix finish. Overall, not a meaty stout but it delivers nice, smooth, rich aromas and flavors.

Tap at Watering Hole. Deep brown to black with a small beige head that lingers throughout. Big, chocolatey, nutty roasted coffee nose (Central American?) with some light spent coffee grounds and cacao nib present. Body is a little thin, but OK for the style and ABV. Just as much coffee on the palate as on the nose. Dry finish with some more cacao nib. Pretty solid.

Borefts VII. Day 2. Keg. Opaque black - brown beer, small pale tan head. Palate is airy and semi dry and with good nibbly crispness. Fluffy dark malts, light lactose - cream. Modest coffee. Minerally crisp finish. Clean coffee stout, fine.

Black. Has a very nice roasted coffee aroma. The flavour starts out similar but there’s some kind of boiled vegetable taste in the background.
