A Mil Máscaras of flavour. This Imperial stout will wrestle your taste buds to the canvas in a Tag Team of insane sensory assault. Coffee, chocolate and alittle spice on the nose. Dark chocolate mixes with mocha, vanilla and spice, all layered over a smooth nitro-styling you never saw coming. This set-up finishes with a delicate habanero drop kick as the bell sounds.

Can 330ml (Fanzine #10)
Opaque colour, small steady creamy beige head. Aroma is toasted, dark chocolaty and a bit like tonka bean perfumic vanilla. Medium-bodied, smooth nitro-like palate. Starts with sweetish vanilla then leading to roasted, dark chocolaty finish. Can't trace much of spiceyness in the flavour except maybe some in the aftertaste. Robust imperial I would even say porter.

Keg and can. Black body with a thin beige head that gradually fades. Faint lacing. Aroma of chocolate, coffee and nuts. Flavour of green pepper, dark chocolate and the lightest hint of chilli. Thin to medium body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. A tasty beer with a subtle spice addition. It comes together nicely.

Can at home in Hackney - sourced via Fanzine. Pours oily black with a thick, creamy mocha head. Nicely rounded, rich but restrained, some moderately bittersweet dark chocolate, soft ashy roast, light woody dryness, an accent of chipotle if you really search for it. Medium to full bodied, lightly chewy, with fine, massaging carbonation. Warming finish with some sticky burnt sugars, more rounded chocolate character, nips of burnt marshmallows and vanilla beans, light coffee, baking cocoa. Great stuff overall.

This wasn't bad but based on the description rather underwhelming. Just far too tame, both on the chocolate as well as the spices.

Bottle, 8.2%. Roasted barley and chocolate aroma. Black colour, seems unclear. Good stable brown head. The flavour starts off sweet with some dark bread notes. Turns to chocolate and a little chili. Does not burn, but has a good flavour of fruity chili. Well-balanced. Solid mouthfeel.

Bottle. Pours hazy very dark brown with airy but stable tan head. Clear aroma of malt and chocolate, with notes of hops and touches of yeast. Bitter, roasty onset, giving way to sweetish notes of chocolate, yeast and malt and mild touches of fruit and hops. Roasty aftertaste with notes of dark chocolate and hints of vanilla. Warming alcohol presence. A nice one.
