One of my first beers made as a home brewer and one of my father’s favourites, perhaps because of the memories from his youth kindled by the classic bitter taste … sip after sip. This is why it’s called Barry’s Bitter.

Nitro keg at luppolo12, rome. Amber color, almost clear, short white head. Aroma of roasted malts and caramel, decent hops backing with orange and lime. Distinct mineral note in the finish. Taste is on the bitter side with a toasted edge and some toffee. Light to medium body average carbonation, tingling even if hand pulled, clean dry finish.

33cl bottle from Abeervinum, Rimini, Italy. Pours intense amber practically with no foam. Aroma is malty and herbaceous. Body is light with average carbonation. Taste is low in sweetness and with important bitterness. Finish is not interesting.

Cask @Bir&Fud (Rome). Ambrata chiara, leggermente torbida, schiuma color panna, leggera e persistente. Al naso sentori di malto, caramello e zucchero di canna, mela grattugiata, erba tagliata, molto "british". In bocca è delicata ed equilibrata in perfetto stile inglese, in più freschissima, base di malto con leggera tostatura, delicato amaro finale. Corpo medio-leggero, carbonazione soft. Molto inglese, quindi ottima!

Handpump at 4:20, Rome-Italy. Ancient golden semi clear pour, off-white tick foam. Nose: sweet malty/orangey notes, a bit biscuit. Mouth: mild bitter start, watery middle and nutty end. Really complex in its simplicity. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Hand pump at the Birre in Festa festival. 4.2% it poured a nice amber gold with an aroma of malty caramel. The body was a bit too light & not as silky as I usually get from cask ales but the taste was pretty good a mildly bitter caramel malt beer.
