Aroma of sweet malt, caramel, plum, overripe dark fruit. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet with a light bitter finish. Nice ’different’ Bock.

Tap at North End, Leiden: Dark brown colored brew with an slightly sweet bitter taste, with hints of caramel, dried fruit and some faint smoked. Almost an great and terrific beer, if it had some more smokiness.

(Draught at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 15 Feb 2019) Reddish brown colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with caramel, dried fruit, prunes and raisins. Malty, fruity taste with notes of caramel, dried fruit, prunes, raisins, figs and a mild spicy bitterness. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and well balanced bock. Quite nice.

330ml bottle. Hazy, dark, chestnut colour with huge, frothy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Sweet-ish, minimally nutty, dark malty and fruity aroma, notes of milk chocolate, raspberry, peach, a touch of fig. Taste is sweet-ish, chocolately and minimally nutty dark malty, notes of milk chocolate, hints of peach and raspberry, a touch of fig; slightly overcarbonated. Not perfectly balanced: minimally too sweet, carbonation prohibits a more intense and concentrated taste.

330ml bottle from trade with Benzai. Many thanks chap! Pours dark brown, good off-white head. Aroma of earthy spice and brown sugar. Taste is smooth, spicey with a fair sweetness. Not a lot of love for this here, and yes it’s a bit sweet and perhaps more in tune with a dubbel, but on a cold night like tonight I rather like it.

33 cl. bottle @ home, gift from my parents. Clear light brown with a beige head. Malty spicy aroma. Bittersweet taste. Quite thin taste but not annoyingly so.
