Bottle from 2011. Pours deep reddish chestnut, small beige head, some residual and lacing. Aroma is hugely oaky, vinous, slightly Bretty, whiskey. Flavor is light sweet, some tartness, loads of oak tannins, some funk, whiskey, dry sherry. Medium body. Interesting what 5 years has done to this one.

Life is indeed good.

Bottled:
Colour is brown. Head is kind of smallish. Aroma is malty; chocolate, toffee and almonds. Some hops and alcohol. Somewhat sticky mouthfeel. Taste is chocolate, toffee, almonds, cherries, hops and alcohol. Bitter finish.
Pretty good, but the ordinary Old Ruffian is much better.
