Welcome to the evolution of style. When we set out to design Boomsauce years ago we knew we wanted a fruit forward, unfiltered and incredible IPA. However, this was a time before Hazy, New England IPAs has even entered the lexicon. As the sub category evolved so did expectations of what it meant to be a Hazy, Juicy IPA. So we decided to evolve Boomsauce along with the style. We adjusted the malt balances and hit it hard with our favorite hops. The results are an incredibly Juicy and Hazy derivative of Boomsauce that continues to define the category.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 4/3/2019. Pours opaquely hazy deep golden amber/light orange color with a 1 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice dense spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, anise, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light honey/toast, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/fairly earthy hops and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, anise, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light honey/toast, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, mint, anise, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/fairly earthy hops and bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/sticky, and fairly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 8.8%. Overall this is an awesome NEDIPA. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/fairly earthy hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to drink for the ABV, with the mellowly bitter/resinous/drying finish; nicely soft, and not aggressive. Assuming the same flavor hops as the base beer: Ella, Mosaic, Falconers Flight, and Amarillo. Extremely juicy, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a great balanced wheat/oat/malt backbone. Lightly sweet from lingering resin dryness. A really enjoyable offering, and impressive style example as expected; but did not prefer it over the regular.

Pours a nice hazy amber from a can. Overripe stone and citrus fruit aroma and flavor, a little too cloying. Good beer.
