Cask at CBC, Covent Garden on 19th March 2022. Hazy straw coloured with shallow non-lacing foam. Botanical spiciness in aroma. Herby hoppiness in-mouth and finish. Smooth mouthfeel and light body.
Earlier Rating: 2/26/2014 Total Score: 4.3
On tap at the Pint Shop, Cambridge on 19th February 2014. Hazy gold with off-white film and pattern lacing. Fine grapefruit aroma. Exquisite in-mouth: delicate yet rich grapefruit and grassiness meet delicate berry fruits. Grapefuit citric tanginess in a fruity finish, on a crisp, zingy mouthfeel and with medium body. Superb!

7-4-7-4-14 Bottle, 1758.2002., as The Kernel Table Beer, 2,9 % ABV, hops: Galaxy, seven weeks after bottling 05.05.25. Pours cloudy yellow, with a big creamy head. Aroma is hoppy notes with pine and citrusy notes of orange peel and grapefruit, as well as malts with toffee and honey. Medium body, with average carbonation. Flavour is hoppy notes with pine, citrusy notes of grapefruit and oranges and some grassy notes, as well as malts with cereals and heathery minerals. Nice, lingering hoppy finish. Tremendously full bodied and flavourful session IPA!

Bottle at 3% consumed 5 weeks after bottling. Hops on this one are HBC 431, mosaic. A nice pale cloudy orange with persistent white head; promising. Aroma of citrus, pine, light malts, a little spice. Taste is the same, a bit bit more subtle, but each sip seems to emphasise the flavours slightly differently so I don't think I'll get bored very easily with this one. The body is a little shy of medium but surprisingly strong considering the low ABV. This would be an excellent choice for a lunchtime beer.

Bottle from The Curious Hop, Otley. Pours a hazy yellow/straw colour with a medium sized foamy white head. Some sediment in the glass. Aromas of citrus fruits, grapefruit, lemon, lychee with hints of biscuit and floral. Taste is again the same notes as the aroma with the same notes on the palate with a grassy hoppy finish. Fairly light bodied but an amazing amount of flavour for only 2.7% abv. Very good.

Tap at the brewery. Clear light golden colour, not much head. Bit stinky, bit of fruitiness. Taste is slight fruitiness, bit floury, quite strange, bit of indistinct fruit. Nice enough and easy to drink. 7/3/7/3/14. Had another go on 10/8/13. Tap at the brewery again. Golden coloured, off-white bubbly head. Aroma is not so strong, little bit peachy. Taste is good, easy drinking, light fruit, earthy malt, bit biscuity. Prefer this version to the last one I had.

GBBF, 7th Aug 2019, on-tap. Slight haze to the light golden body, wispy white head. Not too sure why people 'bang on' about The Kernel beers, this was just a bog standard table beer with very little going on aroma or flavour wise, a few hops hanging around maybe, handy for washing my glass out though, saved me using any water.
