A pale ale with spicy, grassy aromas and a taste of grapefruit and apricot. Undercurrent is part pale, part oats and part caramel barley. Her swirls of bold, bready and nutty malt whirl into a concoction of spicy, citrus, floral hops. Mystery lurks in those cascade and palisade hops. Her silky, creamy body will pull you under.

Pours dark orange with average creamy diminishing white head. Good lacing, almost clear, medium body with somehow sticky texture. Lively carbonation. Average malts, mostly bread, cereal and cookies, average hops floral and citrus, with hints of apricots and maybe exotic fruits here and there, somewhat spicy. Very balanced regarding sweetness and bitterness, interesting palate. Not your average ale, if I may say. Really good one!

Bottle from Theatre of Wine, Greenwich. Amber pour with an off-white head. Aromas of warm bread, treacle, sweet citrus and mango. Flavours of citrus, lots of juicy fruit in there. Bitter fruit finish. Quite tasty.

Cask at CBC Clerkenwell - London. Pours clear gold with a fine, creamy white head. Some ripe orange in the nose, a bit of toasty hay. Light-medium sweet flavor with toasty bread, ripe berries, dry orange. Light bodied with fine carbonation; nicely conditioned. Somewhat dry to finish, with touches of leaves, citrus rind, dry pale bread. Very tasty.

Keg at Our Black Heart, Camden Town. Orangey gold, bright and cloudy. Peach/passionfruit aroma with a subtle resinous tinge. Starts bittersweet but turns ever more bitter toward the finish. The aftertaste is a bit too acrid, and the body is a bit too watery for my taste. An enjoyable pale ale nonetheless.
