A ruby hued sour blended in the darkest depths of winter. As dry as a Spring dawn and packed as tight as a punnet with whole Scottish blueberries, raspberries and strawberries. Bursting with fresh berry jam notes and subtle Brett funk tartness. Culminating in a sweet but devishly dry finish.

Perennial Punnet - Fruited fatalism.

500ml bottle from Brewdog. Golden colour with pinkish tinge, bubbly white foam head and aroma of berries, citric rind, wood barrel, brett. Taste is sour, tart, berries, jammy, with lemon rind, some saltiness and light bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying sour finish. Nicely drinkable.

Small, if stable, just off-white head over still, clear reddish golden beer. Immediate delicate, but unmistakably fruity nose, with straw- and raspberry, and a whiff of... whisky? Quite sour, sour grapes, sour sherry. There remains a subsurface fruitsweetness. Again strawberry, raspberry and other red (berry)fruit. Finish has a distinct flavour of old winebarrels, maybe like very aged Rosé d'Anjou. Bit aggressive acidity, if nowhere as bad as USA kettle sours, and moreover mellowing in time. Light body, low carbonation, faint fruitslickness, long-lasting fruitflavours. Really nice, if not spectacular.

Bottle. Unclear slightly pink body with a small white head. Aroma is acidic and quite strong with red berries, raspberries and rhubarb. Taste is really refreshing, acidic with fruits and berries like found in aroma. Nice, slightly funky and nothing artificial. Nice one.
