Celebrate the commission of our new foudre (large oak tank) with this limited, first-run edition. Foudre Project #1 is a NW sour ale that is a blend of Triples aged in one of our foudre. Look for aromas of sweet candy, apple and subtle hints of citrus as you draw the glass near. Sweet candy and oak mingle on the palate and lead to a soft, round, sweet finish with a lingering oak note.

Bottle shared. Thanks Colin. Hazy orangy color, small off-white head. Aroma is a bit weird and hard to describe. Taste is moderately sour, but very very well balanced. Pretty nicely fruity as well. Quite lovely.

Keg at the brewery, 11/11/14. Clear golden with moderate off white edgeing. Nose is tangy fruit rinds, pissy, musty wood, lemon rind, dank tones. Taste comprises citric tinged straw, apple core, must, lemon peel, woody licks. Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a tangy dark fruit rinse and woody peach notes. Decent but not top draw.

On tap at Cascade, pours a mostly clear golden with a small white head. Aroma is quite sour and complex, with juicy fruits and oak. Flavour is complex as well, with sour stone fruits, oak, and very light acidity. Moderate tartness and high complexity. Highly drinkable for the ABV.
