Tap at The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours very hazy orange with a yellow/beige head. Aroma is rather citrus sour. And oaky. Med body or better. Flavor is fruity, bitingly woody, and a touch sour. Red berry is present, but hard to pin down. Seems more sour stone fruit. Finishes woodily astringent, dry, bitter, sour. Very nice.

Chosen to be on my second flight at Stone’s Liberty Station outlet in San Diego on a sunny 17th March 2014. 8.2% ABV according to the beer menu. Cloudy dull gold body, with a small white covering. Sweet and fruity in both the nose and the taste. Hints of many different flavours from start to finish, easy to pick up some (wine notes, wood, bubble gum to name but three). Interesting and different, I liked it, the base beer of Cali-Belgique obviously helps, as that is a fine beer on it’s own without the extra barreling etc, etc.

Kentucky Fried Charleston Trip Beer #109. Draft at Brewvival. Pours a clear vibrant copper color with a thin foamy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of juicy citrus, herbal notes, mild wood and wine. The taste is tart wine, citrus hops, pale malt. Medium bodied.

On tap at Stone 17th anniversary party. An unclear, golden to orange beer with a dense off-white head. At first, it smells like tooth paste, but quickly the vanilla and red wine from the barrels kick in. Alcohol notes and tropical fruits. Full body, warming and pleasantly carbonated. Quite oaked flavor, with fruits and a touch of Belgian yeast. Nice bitterness. Lasting warming finish with oak, tannins, fruits and bitterness. Unusual but quite nice. 130816
