Retire to the state rooms with this Experimental Double IPA brewed with a pair of hops newly arrived from the colonies. HBC 522 and 568 bestow regal aromas of pine, candied orange, juicy pineapple and zesty marmalade and leave a lasting bitterness to this warming DIPA. Have the butler send for a second.

Can at home, from Fanzine, 09/11/19. Clear copper golden with a decent off white head. Nose is caramel malts, bitter orange, sweet malts, residual sugars, booze tunes. Taste comprises candied orange peel, pine needle, caramel malts, sweet, grapefruit. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, semi drying close spiked with semi aggressive hop bitterness. Decent enough Old Skool DIPA if a touch raw.

Can 355ml. Poured clear golden color with a thin white head. Grapefruity hops, clean brew, very brewdoggy. Bitter finish, orange peel, grapefruit.

Clear amber colour, medium-sized white head. Hop oils, pine needles and some sweetness in the nose. Medium-bodied. Quite hop oily is the flavour too. Resiny, sticky bitterness. Feels more than 70 IBU. Some fruityness although it is quite dry flavour. Some crystal malts, light on malt side, easy to drink, overall clean palate. Interesting.

Can from BrewDog Fanzine This one is not that nice. Quite sweet IIPA. And in general I would say that it tastes cheap. Hardly worth attention

Tried at BrewDog Norwich. Slightly hazy golden colour with a white head. Fruity citrus aroma and taste. Pine and tropical pineapple taste. Marmalade. Full body.

Can at home in Hackney - sourced via Fanzine. Pours clear, deep honey-gold with a frothy, white head. Hearty stuff, lots of resinous pine, bitter grass, white grape, bitter orange peel. Medium to full bodied, lightly oily, with fine to average carbonation. Warming finish, a little sticky and resinous, with further aggressive piney bitterness, more rindy citrus, citrus gummies. Interesting beer.

330ml can courtesy of Brewdogβs Fanzine. Pours a misted golden amber, white foam. Aroma is sugary almond, tropic zest. Taste is initially quite tangy, drying swiftly. Almond once again, some medicinal alcohol, metallic spice, cough syrup... im trying to latch onto hop fruit of any description, as weβre used to with DIPAs but its simply not there. In its place is an awful mishmash of flavours i cant ever recall tasting in a DIPA before. Drainpour and Brewdog Fanzine subscription cancelled.
