Blend of lambics aged on average 16 to 18 months and of Muscat grapes.
Muscat grapes make Vigneronne a delicate and very refreshing beer that, due to the fructose, is slightly less acidic than other Cantillon beers.
In spite of its success, the Vigneronne represents less than 5% of the total production of the Cantillon brewery. In order to obtain grapes which are as mature as possible, we buy them at the end of the season. Every year, 1000 kilos of white italian grapes are delivered at the Cantillon brewery in the beginning of October.
It is difficult to produce more Vigneronne even though the demand exists. All the grapes are picked from the bunch by hand and we don’t have much time, since the new brewing season starts at the end of October.
The beers are not blended before the bottling. The second fermentation is caused by the addition of a sugared liquor.
The six-pointed star on our label is an alchemist’s symbol. It contains four elements, represented by triangles, of the brewing process. The fire is the symbol of the mashing tun, the earth of the cereals, the air of the yeasts, and the water is the fourth element. At this moment, only a brewer of traditional lambic may use this symbol.

Bottle, bottled 15 october 2018. Color: Hazy golden, dense white head. Aroma: Sweet and sour, Brett, grapes. Taste: Moderate to medium sour, light to moderate sweet and very light bitterness. Notes of grapes, grapeskin, hints of berries, funky notes of Brett. Medium body, below average carbonation. Long lasting fruity and Bretty finish. Very easy drinkable, not that much sourness, nice complexity and very well balanced flavours. Very good. Maybe a bit young, I will keep a 2017 vintage in the cellar to see how this beer will age.

On tap at Moeder Lambic, Brussels. Hazy golden, small head. Quite vinous and acidic aroma, white grapes, funky, sour fruit juice. Quite sour, medium body, very fruity, lemony, drinkable, not so vinous any more. Completely dry. Very nice.

75cl bottle, 2017 vintage. Pours hazy orange golden with a minimal white head. Aroma: white grapes, peach, lemon, oak, light funk. Taste: dry, citric, light to medium tartness, sour grapes, funk, hints of green apple & pepper. Pronounced dry finish. Medium bodied with light carbonation. Not my favourite of the seasonals

Flaska från trade, årgång 2017. Ljus, relativt klar gulguldig med kritvit krona. Ganska anonym i doften, lätt funkighet och typiskt grönt äppelskal. Torr, ganska stram i kroppen. I smaken mer av fruktighet och lätt sötma. Gröna druvor, vitt vin, päron, persika, gröna äpplen. Fin skal- och kärnbeska.

Super fresh, intense fermenting grape, grapeskin, light diacetyl. Soft sweetness, tart, lightly astringent, dries up nicely, sour sting.
