Bottle from Erzengel. My attempt at German lunch - leftover mash fried in butter and dripping with crushed garlic, and (Polish) frankfurters. Sweet malty aroma. Some coffee. Dark and glossy - cola brown in the light. Creamy beige head. Light sweet with a touch of sourness. Some bitterness which is soon overpowered. Burnt caramel. Mesium bodied. Slick. Average carbonation. Abrupt finish. Good stuff. The bright side of sweet and goes well with my fried food.

Körvöl ?

0.33 l bottle from local 'trinkgut', best before January 2019. Black with a thin, frothy, stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty aroma of caramel, some nuts and a touch of chocolate. Slightly sweet, malty, a bit roasty taste of caramel, toasted nuts, some chocolate and hints of wort, followed by a short, moderately bitter, slightly roasty and a bit metallic finish. Thin to medium body, gently effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Not really a good Schwarzbier, almost tastes a bit unfinished. Disappointing!

F: big, tanned, good retention. C: black, opaque. A: dark malts, bready, bit cocoa, caramel. T: dark malts, caramel, dark bread crust, bit chocolate, hint of roasted tones, smooth mouthfeel, light to medium body and carbonation, good one, enjoyed, 50cl bottle from Prik&Tik Kampenhout bottle shop in Belgium.

Keg at salthorse. Pours black, nose is meaty, liquorice, roasted, blackcurrant, taste is malty, meaty, toffee, liquorice.

On tap at Der Wolfskopf. Pours black, with a small, cream-colored head. The nose is caramel, light coffee, earth, and walnuts. Sweet and yeasty. Light to medium body, with a creamy, nitro-esque feel. This is a mellow and easy beer.

0,5 bottle. A really good;brown; black beer. The color is dark, brownish, clear. The head is light-brown. Its strongly scented with caramels. After taste, I can only say good things about it. They give a brisk experience for classic brown features - caramel, chocolate, sweet and slightly coffee. It is very good to drink, it doesn;t stick to the mouth, but it doesn't feel wet. It is a very pleasant surprise to me.

Retested several times. 2025 04. 08 - can. Boxed version. The beer is much "worse", waterier, and has less character, it is possible that they put different ingredients in it for different markets, or the quality has declined :(

Egy igazán jól sikerült;barna; fekete sör. A színe sötét, barnasörös, tiszta. Habja világosbarana. Illatra erősen karamelles. Ízlelés után csak jót tudok róla mondani. Sörös élményt is ad a klasszikus barna vonások - karamell, csokoládés, édeskés, kissé kávés jegyek mellett.. Nagyon jól iható is, nem ragad az ember szája, mégsem érződik vizesnek, vagy kis beltartalmúnak. Nekem nagyon kellemes meglepetés.

Újra tesztelve többször is. 2025 04. 08 - can. Dobozos verzió. Jóval "silányabb", vizesebb, és kevésbé karakteres a sör, elképzelhető, hogy más-más piacra mást töltenek bele, vagy visszaesett a minőség :(
