Vicious and viscous, this menacing brew pours opaque black with a creamy maduro-colored head. Its aroma offers seductive whiskey, chewy red wine, dark fruit and lavish tobacco. Berserker Imperial Stout invades your taste buds with in-your-face flavor. Weighing in at almost 13% alcohol by volume, Berserker is completely out-of-control. Give it a good fight.

From trade with jbuddle, sampled from the 0.65l bottle @ Top Hops (BA) Bottle Share. Oh, it's REALLY deep dark and near jet black in the glass this one! It has a nice medium sized deep dark brown head on top. A lovely nose with lots of chocolate, vanilla, bourbon and a strong warming sweetness. Superb. A bit dry on the flavor initially, as I expected lots of sweetness. I get traces if both cardboard (in a strange good way), lots of chocolate, deep vanilla and lots and lots of wood! Dry cocoa and salty licorice lingering in the finish. It's soft and prickling on the bubbles and thick, viscous and chewy in the mouth. An amazing beer. 15.06.2013

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a nice dark brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of sweet roasted malt notes with some light black chocolate notes. Taste is also dominated by quite a bit of residual sugars with some nice dry roasted malt notes. Notes of coffee and molasses are also very pleasant. Body is full with nice thick oily texture with good carbonation and alcohol is not overly apparent. Nice big IS which retains some good drinkability level.

THX! for this gem. Thx goes to Mathieu87, I believe. 650 ml. bottle sampled @ Brugs Bier Festival 2014. Pours a sludgy black liquid with only a small rim on the sides. Nose is huge molasses, very thick liquorish, sweet, bourbon, warming, liquorish is quite dominant, coffee & roasted oak. Taste is bitter thick molasses, lots of liquorish (interesting but less my thing), thick syrupy, barrel, warming, bitter coffee grounds, lots of molasses, roasted oak, charred, warming, touch bourbon. Thick, chewy, little carb. Interesting & solid beer.

Alaska’s most wanted....hmm...that’s funny as nothing was sent to the Juneau area this entire Autumn. I had to trade for this one.
I had in a pint glass and a Midnight Sun tulip. 12.7% ABV labeled on the bottle.
2013 vintage.let’s do this.
The appearance pours like motor oil (i.e. jet black pour has that \"glub glub\" sound to it)....in the pint glass and the tulip, about the same sized head = about a finger’s worth of foamy slightly tan/almost off white head that dies within about a minute.
The smell - well, its mostly bourbon, woo-wee, holy crap, boy is that over over powering or what, woo-wee...as it warms, there is some maple and molasses; lil’ bit of oakiness coming through, unsure how well it combines, though its not really combining to me, I do get some roastiness and some major vinousness/wine-ness to it, hmm.... yikes (I passed it to a wine drinker and she said this is very wine-like) uh-oh
On the palate, I just wonder if this could be any sweeter through the vinousness its already in, hmmmm...ok, is this how you want this thing MS, ok, no worries; however I will say this has an exceptionally sweet sticky aftertaste and a dry sticky sweet finish
Overall, would I have this again, no way, this is a wine in disguise at the moment, hmm....maybe if it aged a bit, it could come back to a slightly \"beer state.\" until then, this is actually pure crap fresh, if you like wine, try it fresh, if you like beer, age it and see what happens.

Keg at Blind Tiger, NYC, special keg beer at 5pm, 25/11/13. Pitch black with a big ole proper dirty tan head that thins a little but retains well. Nose is big roasty ballsacks, dark chocolate, light smoke, tar, earthy. Taste comprises big roast tones immediately followed up by a layer of sweetness, dark toffee fudge, dark chocolate, light boozey do. Full bodied, fine carbonation, booze coated finish. Solid impy work, not too hot for 12%.

Bottle, 2013. Pours opaque black with a small black head, creamy with nice lacing. Aroma is molasses, bourbon, vanilla, maple, more vanilla, roastiness, dark chocolate, and lots of wood. Flavor is medium sweet, woody, lightly bitter, molasses. Finish is a bit bitter with a bit of that maple bitterness that I get in some maple beers. Fully body, creamy, a bit hot. Hella good.

Black with beige head. Aroma is barrel with strong whisky note. Very malty flavor, fruit, Cape red, and malt and more malt. Alcohol burn is cancelled by a malty finish.
