Very dark brown and murky with thin head. Aroma and flavour have plenty of heavily roasted malts. There’s also a hint of coffee and liquorice. Fairly sweet.

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 20A). Bottle 50cl - Batch P071217 (BBF 08/2018). AROMA: medium roasted malt aroma with slight notes of dark chocolate, nutiness. Slightly sweet malt background. APPEARANCE: very dark brown color and opaque. medium head of light brown color with medium retention. ruby highlights. TASTE: medium-high flavor of roasted malt (unsweetned coffee) and almost burnt. Slight dried nuts flavor. Medium bitterness with a roasted, slightly bitter and semi-dry to dry finish. PALATE: medium body with medium-low carbonation. Slight alcohol warmth. OVERALL: altough the label says "an hybrid english/american porter", this sample is clearly tilted towards the american version, rendering a decent example.
