A farmhouse ale brewed for Gene Bonventre’s 10,000th RateBeer rating! Crisp, dry and subtly nuanced, offering an aromatic array of lemon zest, cracked pepper, white grapefruit and earthy funk; crafted in collaboration with our friends Terry Hawbaker & Kristen Mullen (Intangible Ales), as well as with our good buddy Gene himself. Brewed with rye & oats, hopped with Citra, Aramis & Chinook, soured with lactobacillus and fermented exclusively with Brettanomyces Bruxellensis Drei for six months in tank.

Poured from 750mL bottle. Hazed gold with minimal white head. Soft brett, hint of sweatiness, a mild bite on the finish, decent for 10+ years old. Glad to now officially be part of Travlr's adventures.

Hazy, dull beige colour. No head. Earthy aroma, nice lemongrass accents, citrus, Soft body, nice mellow brett accents, pear, lychee sort of sweetness. Pretty nice complexity. There's a slight lack of freshness but good character.

750mL bottle, pours a hazy bright orange with a small white head. Aroma is somewhat oxidized at this point, with some wild yeast, a touch of oak, and earthy breadiness. Flavour has held up better, with plenty of wild yeast, sweaty notes where the hops used to be, gentle funk, and some earthiness. Sweaty, somewhat oxidized, but the oak and wild yeast is still pleasant. Good for a 10-year-old beer.

750 c/o Gene himself. Shared at tasting Lemon-lime mellow sweet tart aroma and flavors. Delicate, awesome sour. Juicy and mellow. Honeysuckle, tangerine, lemon, lime. Perfect mouthfeel. Way more reminiscent of Belgian stuff than US. Solid offering. Big thanks Travlr!
