Once upon a time it was the most award winning Pizza Port beer of all time. Now it has found a new home at The Lost Abbey.
A massive brown ale base that is made from four fermentable sugars including Malted Barley, Raisins, Candi Sugar and Sour Cherries, this beer is fully fermented before being placed in Bourbon barrels where the beer ages for one year with the Sour Cherries and the wild Brettanomyces yeast that we inoculate the barrels with.
One of the most complex and unique beers we make each year.

Sample from 375 ml. bottle. Dark amber colour with a thin, lightly tanned head. Fruity, sour aroma with tart fruits, cherries, yeasts - bretts, wood, rich caramel malts. Taste is sour. Full body with an oily texture and a flat carbonation. Finishes rather dry with tart fruits, spices and a vinous note. Well executed Sour.

Riktigt riktigt gott.

Bottle at home. Vintage 2012. Has a hazy, deep red brown colour with aproximately no head. Woody aroma with leather, berries, heather, brown sugar, cherries, creme brulee and cola. Has a sour flavour with more cherries, leather, oak and citric acid that lasts. Has a silky mouth feel, and a light bitterness. A pretty acidic and tasteful sour ale.
