Bottled 625ml. -Ghana version. Almost black coloured, medium sized pale brown head, very pleasant chicory chocolate nose. Mild roasted malt, chocolate and coffee with strong and unpleasant metallic notes near the end. Begins well but the finish is huge letdown. Pitty.

Bottle. Creamy, light flavor. Slightly roasty, creamy aroma. Malts rather disappointing. Sweet with roasting; lacking complexity. Full body, but flavor is not much to speak of, really. Uninteresting, though drinkable.

Beer has a milky foamy head and a black body, little bubble coming up too. Aroma is just some scent of cardboard and alcohol, with a little hint of milk it would seem. Flavour is very smooth and crisp taste, milkiness as the bottle mentions. Great for quaffing but lacking in complexity. Overall a good stout with a unique milk flavour that doesn’t seem forced.

500ml Bottle from an Off Licence, Sandton, Joburg. Poured black with a dissipating tan head. Aroma was chocolate and sweet malt with a hint of licorice. Flavour was a touch sweet, with more roasty notes and chocolate. A tad unrefined but passable and probably one of the better easily obtainable brews in SA.

Canned. Deep red/black. A small tanned head that soon disappeared. Modest fruity and malty aroma. Sweet roasted flavor with a sweet bitter finish. OK stout but a bit watery. KI=3.

Can - the license version brewed by Tanzania breweries. Almost black with a rusty tint. Virtually no head. Dark coffee aroma and notes of roastiness. Roasted flavour supported by notes of milk chocolate and cocoa added some hints of liquorice. Bittersweet aftertaste. Medium palate. Almost like a Norwegain Yule beer (Thanks to Yngwie for this one)(shared with Finn, 21.11.2007).

Can. (brewed by Tanzanian Breweries) Clear, deep brown pour, with a tan head. Chocolate and coffee aroma, but a bit weak. Nice though. The flavor is quite roasted, but also chocolate and coffee plays a significant role, and there’s also some sweetness in it. It finishes rather roasted. A medium-bodied, quite nice and quaffable beer. 340 ml can (Tanzania Breweries license). Almost black body with a creamy beige head. Roasted malt and chocolate aroma. Flavor is malty with roasted notes, milk chocolate and a little hint of caramel as well as bitter notes. Medium body, creamy and surprisingly easy drinkable, a bit sweet and one dimensional in the finish. A welcoming break from all the insignificant lagers found everywhere in Tanzania.

Bottle. Pours a black color with an off-white head. Sweet malty slightly roasted aroma with some hints of chocolate. Sweet roasted malty flavor with some hints of chocolate. Has a slightly thin mouthfeel and the finish is sweet malty and with some hints of chocolate in the aftertaste.
