For 80 years Red Stripe has embodied the spirit, rhythm and pulse of Jamaica and its people. Eugene Desnoes & Thomas Geddes really started something special in Kingston back in 1918. Barley malt and the finest Yakima hops were combined with lots of island attitude to give Red Stripe its now world famous easy taste. Enjoy the Jamaican easy vibe.

Clear pale golden colour, good white fluffy head, recedes quickly, a bit of lacing. Aroma sweet malty, corn, hay. Flavour light sweet, corny, slightly bitter, bit metallic, mild bitter finish; overall probably a quite acceptable pale lager if you sip it at a Jamacain poolside.

Bottle in Kingston Jamaica. Yeasty bready aroma. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a crisp, light, malty, bready, light hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. It’s ok. It’s not the worst beer in the world.

Had plenty of these over the course of 10 nights at Princess Senses The Mangrove, Green Island, Jamaica (the only beer available). Not the most challenging of lagers, but my scoring may be heightened due to the sun and relaxation being enjoyed! Clear pale gold with a chill haze, a bubbly white head and a sweet cereal malt aroma. Cold and fizzy, sweet soft cereal malt, just a little kick of citrus bitterness and a dryish finish.

Bottle. I can’t believe, I haven’t rated this one sooner. Watery, not much flavor. Sands beer from the Bahamas is a better beer. But, I had it in Jamaica, and it added to the whole Jamican experience. Wouldn’t drink it here again but would love to drink it there.

Bottle at the Airbnb at St Marteen, country #64. Nem annyira veszes, mint amire szamitottam egyebkent, nincs (tulsagosan) banto gusztustalan edesseg, meg nemi kesernyet is felfedezni veltem benne, igazabol egy atlag macro lager, mindenfele banto jegy nelkul - az meg ugye felsiker.

Wow, what a great tagline for a beer, In other words, "we used crap ingredients, and adjuncts so it wont taste like anything and you can get bamboozled without having to worry about tasting any of those nasty things"
