Bottled. Nice soft nose—wheat, citrus hop, some paint thinner. Nice and tangy flavor, with rich, thich malt, wheat, biscuits, nice sweetness. So drinkable and soft, very mellow, with a nice, soft bitterness. Could drink it all day. A beer I wish I could get by IV.

Pours light yellow with a small white had. Aroma of fruits, wheat malts, spices, lemon and citrus. Taste is fruity with a lot of lemony and citrusy notes, wheat and slight spices. Finish is tasty with exotic fruits, hops and spices. Extremely tasty and well balanced wheat ale.

Jake’s Pub, Chicago bottle ($6): Pours a reddish color with a quickly dissipating head. Aroma is amarillo hops, amarillo hops, and amarillo hops (similar to Jinx or Pride & Joy). Taste is also very hoppy, but in my opinion the wheat elements come out more and provide a pleasant counterpoint to the hoppiness. This is not to say that the hops are extreme, for I do not believe that they are, but rather that they are awesome. Very sessionable and helps restore my faith in wheat ales.

Floral bouquet, odd for a wheat beer, lillies and rosehips discernible. Clear amber, medium head, nice lacing. Wheat and lilly flavor, tangy lemon. A hoppy american wheat, which is a stroke of genius, since the style lacks lack the fruity esters of the german hefes. I finally got my hands on a few of these, courtesy of some friends who made a pilgrimmage to 3Fs. It is well worth the wait. I would buy this regularly if 3Fs ever decides to return to VA.

Got in trade with an non-Ratebeerian. Used a weizen glass. Pored a relatively clear yellow, very small head. Light / Medium body. Mouthfeel is nice and tingly and a bit of Pizazz. Nose with the taste is very much a light IPA. Grapefruit and lemon. It is a nice, refreshing beer, however with a name like “Gumball Head” I think more of a Hefeweizen rather than an IPA. I guess I was hoping for two much. Didn’t realize the label was a Cartoon character. A bit above average.
