Bottle @ Kings Day Tasting 2014 shared with Dutchdrebus. Opaque black color, small to medium sized dark brown head. Aroma is malts, sweetish, slightly a touch of hops and strongly alcohol. Taste malts, alcohol, sweetish, a hint of pepper / chili. Bitter and spicy in the finish. Too spicy / hot for my liking.

Sort farge med tynt brunt skum. Kakao, alkohol, Mørk stenfrukt og espressolukt. Skarp snerpende mørk sjokolade, portvin, bittersøt. Mye som skjer her. Fin 700 feiring.

15th March 2014 Opaque black - brown beer, good tan head. Palate is softish and slightly viscous, semi dry with mild carbonation. Rich dark chocolate malt and a spot of coffee. Mild brandy alcohol tone. Just a whisper of chilli, thankfully! Touch of dark fruits. Finishes smooth and dry with a mild roast malt bitter linger. Pretty drinkable for such a big beer. AB:04 was better mind.

Ten years later, this has obviously aged, I would say neither for the better or for the worse. More caramel and slightly boxy chocolate for sure but less heat

Odense catch-up from the cellar. Black with a tiny tan head. Aroma of malt, green peppers, ink and licorice. Flavour hopelessly dominated by pepper, with coffee and licorice and a spicy hot finish

Flaske 0,33l. Gave fra Rune. Drukket i Skibotn 26 Des 13. Kullsort. Lavt mokkafarget skum som raskt blir helt borte. God aroma av karamell og mørke frukter. Myk munnfølelse. Oljeaktig konsistens og voldsom fylde. Innholdsrik smak. Sherrypreg men mye annet. Lakris. Tørket frukt. Sjokolade. Kaffe. Alkoholen merkes kun gjennom fylden. KI=4

330 ml bottle from Shinanoya @ Shibuya. Pours almost pich black, high viscosity. Feels as if I am pouring some old motor oil into my glass. Head is minimal, some brown lacing. Aroma is mindblowing. It is thick, full of deeply roasted malts, cocoa, coffee, chillies, dark fruits, coffee, brown cane sugar, maple syrup - and did I mention coffee? I can cut this aroma with a knife. Taste does not let me down. It has full roast, sweet dark fruits, dark dark chocolate, coffee - and well balanced with chillies that blend well in the mix and you understand that there was something spicy going on only when the aftertaste comes. Aftertaste is long and aggressive on your palate. Massive beer, have a glass of water nearby when you are drinking it! It’s not a big bottle but it is better to share it with friends - or sip it yourself all through the evening.
