The color is a burnt amber with red highlights and the aroma has a spicy hop presence with moderate caramel malt accents.
The taste is a smooth, malty one with a balanced hoppy finish that includes hints of sweet caramel

Impressive aroma of citric hops, pine, and a lovely sweet caramely maltiness. The balance in this beer is really something else. There is a slight soapy pine finish, with a bitterness that just doesnt let go. The alcohol is imcredibly hidden, what a great beer!

Half pint in The Church, San Diego on 19th January 2022. Red hue to the amber body, off-white/beige head. malty front to the nose and taste, light hop action once into it's stride. Hides the alcohol well.

Lovely version of a under-utilized style. Huge caramel and toast bread malt notes are layered beneath waves of grapefruit, pine, orange marmalade, and a little resin. Finishes with a lengthy, bracing pine bitterness. Killer pint.

Bottle @ Protokoll, Berlin. Pours hazy reddish amber with airy beige head. Clear aroma of hops and needles, with notes of malt and yeast. Bitter flavour of hops and needles, with sweetish notes of malt, caramel abd lozenges and touches of yeast. Bitter and estery aftertaste with touches of caramel. A very nice beer for the style and good as such, too.
