Torst, Brooklyn tap: pours black with a beige head. Aroma is light cocoa, hints of roast, pleasant maltiness. The balance and subtelty of this beer take it to the next level. Nice light and not sweet chocolate taste. Mild hoppiness. Well executed.

Draft at the brewpub. Dark brown pour with a thick, frothy tan head. Chocolate and caramel. Roast. Lots of hoppy dryness. Nice beer.

Growler shared during Sancy! Pours mostly clear brown with a frothy, off-white head. Toasted grains in the nose, brown bread, hints of earth. Medium sweet flavour with more toasted grains, light cocoa, earth, hints of brown sugar. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with more modest earthy hops, well toasted grains, dried fruits, faint cocoa. Great stuff.
