Rodenbach Vintage is the unique result of selection by our Rodenbach brew masters, the barrel after two years of maturation has produced the best beer, "the best barrel of the year". The label is always the number of barrel stated and the year which marks the beginning of maturation. Rodenbach Vintage is 100% matured old beer, resulting in superior Rodenbach Grand Cru. Its taste is complex, round, intense and refreshing. Typically, the apple tart fruitiness combined with caramel, wild honey and oak with a hint of vanilla, cherry and licorice. Its aroma has hints of caramel and oak, as well as notes of green apples mixed with honey and chocolate. The soft sour, fruity aftertaste is long and nicely balanced like a grand cru wine.

75cl bottle on Christmas Day 2025. Pours a dark cola brown, thin sparse off-white patch atop. Soothing acetic sweetness, not especially sour with a mild balsamic side, seemingly smoother with age.. mild oud bruin tang, umami undercurrent, excellent rounded sipper for watching Love Actually which I actually have never watched (and won't ever again).

(Draft at Café Pardaf, Antwerpen, 18 Sep 2025) Reddish brown colour with frothy, beige head. Fruity, malty nose with notes of caramel, brown sugar, oak wood and balsamic vinegar. Fruity, tart taste with caramel, vinegar, oak wood, brown sugar, dried fruit, prunes and a fairly low bitternessin a tart and sweetish finish. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness. Complex, solid and well made, as usual. Very nice.

Vintage 2022, Foeder 157. Sample from bottle at Remko's bierproefavond. Didn't take notes, just enjoyed the beers and good company. Very nice.

(Bottle) Brownish dark red colour with brief foamy head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of oak wood, dried apricots, butterscotch, malt vinegar, brown sugar and honey. Malty, fruity, tart taste with oak wood, dried fruit, apricots, nuts, vinegar, figs, butterscotch, sour cherries and dark bread. No bitterness. Medium body, mainly dry. Tasty, well balanced and harmonious. Seems the acidity has softened a bit over the years. Very nice.

Uma montanha russa. Começa acida e azeda para algo neuro e acaba com um sabor duradouro e doce a cereja.

Thick-set, lightly yellowish head, stable, over reddish rustbrown beer. Lactic acid, point of acetic acid, vinous, also a tad of rubber; raisins, candi sugar, slightly soured sweetened milk. Lactic acid, rather mild for Rodenbach, candi sugar (Wayland syrup?), raisins, plums and a dash of lemon. (Red) fruity. Lipsmacking acidity, acidthinning, but quite slick, almost sticky. Good carbonation. Excellent one - the kind Rudy preferred. Txs to Stef!

Tap @Westside Pint of Origin. Brown, thin beige head. Gentle cherry oak , wine vinegar. Some rumbling richness. Acid sticks out a little much at the end but pretty good.
