750ml bottle corked and caged. Dark ruby pour, slightly pink head
Aroma is huge on also in vinegar, ripe berries, sour cherries and some earthy, woody oak. Low carb, full mouth feel. Finish is very very tart, and acidic. Slight lactic note, very woody, hints of vanilla, with a boat load of vinegar and berries. Some age would be interesting.

opalescent brown colour, minimal creamy beige-is ecru head; aroma of woody, sour cherry, tart, apple peel, slight vanilla and hints of acetone; taste is dominated by sourness with sour cherry, tart tannins, some syrupy-caramel, as well as vanilla notes; goog one

Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Vintage 2014, Foeder 192. Aroma is malt, oak, tart red fruits, vinous notes, sweet and tart cherries, red grapes, touch of funk, mild vinegar, some cane sugar, and a hint of caramel. Flavour is tart and medium sour with a surprising sweetness. Medium bodied. Very tasty sour and sweet Flanders Red, lots of oak, vinous notes and tart red fruits.

75cl bottle at the 1st Shrewsbury Bottle Share Jan 14, courtesy of Blackhaddock. Judging by the comments below I think I should’ve taken more notes! A cherry tartness dominates the palette with cough syrup, red wine and sour notes evolving the taste the more it breathes. Sweet, tangy moments towards the end before that cherry tartness gives you one last kiss on the cheeks.

75cl bottle from Brouwerij Rodenbach. Pours a generally clear dark reddish brown, thinning foamy head. Vibrant aroma of mixed red berries, oak, with a lick of vanilla.Lip-smacking sharp clarity of flavour, Intensely tangy with puckering cherry boiled sweets, luscious fruity layers, with juicy Beaujolais redcurrants, fruitcake, oak, vanilla and a lasting sour linger. Marvellous.

Draught @ Brouwerij Rodenbach. Pours a deep reddish brown, good lasting off-white head. Moderate cherry fruitcake nose, acetic hints. Deep resonating woody oak, caramelised murmurs, cherry glimpses, refined port notes perhaps more subdued and less tangy than the foeder we tried earlier, but still rather excellent.
