Rodenbach Vintage is the unique result of selection by our Rodenbach brew masters, the barrel after two years of maturation has produced the best beer, "the best barrel of the year". The label is always the number of barrel stated and the year which marks the beginning of maturation.
Rodenbach Vintage is 100% matured old beer, resulting in superior Rodenbach Grand Cru. Its taste is complex, round, intense and refreshing. Typically, the apple tart fruitiness combined with caramel, wild honey and oak with a hint of vanilla, cherry and licorice. Its aroma has hints of caramel and oak, as well as notes of green apples mixed with honey and chocolate. The soft sour, fruity aftertaste is long and nicely balanced like a grand cru wine.

Nicely dark red, little bit unstable white head. Smells slightly sour, some sweetness, lots of balsamic, oak. Nice smooth mouthfeel, tiny bit of sharpness to keep it fun. Taste is pretty sweet, with a nice sour underneath, oak, balsamic, strawberries. Yum

Short-lived, cream-tinted head over clear, deep cardinal-red to brown beer. Acetic acid, lactic acid, yoghurt, dried red fruit, overripe banana, babymilk. Dried fruit, red but also dates, figs, on red wine vinegar, brown candi sugar in buttermilk, lactic acid, malonic acid, biscuit. Acidthinning, light -burn, lipsmacking acidity, slick. As it is, not the best from the Vintage series, but might improve.

Vintage 2007. Barrel No 230 - Dark 750ml Bottle from Beer Planet (in november 2011). Five years Aged in my dark cellar (taste in november 2016). Long Acid and fruit finish, Ale sie dzialo kwasno dziko, zywiolowo, bardzo owocowo, zurawina dzika lesne jagody, pozeczki czarne i czerwone i mnostwo wisni. Kwaskowy posmak, wytrawne niebywale czasami to az usta sie krzywily i wolaly o jeszcze. Ciemno bordowa barwa ze znikoma, a praktycznie zerowa piana. Bliskie do wytrawnych najbardziehj szlachetnych win. Na zakonczenie pozostawia wisniowo balsamiczna lepkosc w ustach. Classic and Powerfull Sour Ale. For me one of the best Ale in The world. I'm love it and die for this. Vintage 2013. Foeder nr 149. - White 375ml Limited Edition Bottle. From Piwa regionalne in Katowice. Niesamowicie pachnie dobrym octewm winnym. Barwa kasztanowo rdzawa, klarowna, bez piany, pojawiaja sie w posmaku nuty wanilli, pestki moreli, nieco cierpkich wisni, zakwas z bcwiklowego. Fenomenalne Flanders Red. Vintage 2016 Foeder no. 222. half champagne bottle. This year That Flanders red winning two World Beer Awards. no to skoro juz w 2016 jako swierze bylo takie dobre to czy po 5 latach bedzie jeszcze lepsze. Flandersy sie doskonale starzeja, a Rodenbach to ikona stylu jest mega winne, ocet balsamiczne, rozgniecione na miazge czarne cierpkie porzeczki, nieco wisni. bardzo winne, piana srednia, opada szybko, barwa klarowna czerono-brazowa. pachne drewnem, mokrym starym drewnem, nie dziwi nie to bo jak wiadomo Rodenbach dysponuje ponad 100 letnimi beczkami, jest piwnicznie, nieco stajennie. po prostu wspaniale. do niedzielnego objadu, a zwlaszcza surowki kimchi pasowalo doskonale. to wydanie i ten rocznik ma dusze Burgundii z cala pewnoscia. zlota etykieta, a wlasciwie cala butelka adekfatna do zlotych nagrod i medali. Small cream head, fast gone over red-brown beer, almost clear. Wood a mile out, more closely vinegar, lactic acid, red fruit preserved on acetic wine. Overripe red fruit, not rotten. Sour, vinous in the mouth, with a glimpse of fruitsweetness, lightly oak, various acids, but not too sharp. Extra fruity character. Acidthinning, light -burn, not very carbonated, quite slick. Nose is just a tad too sharp. The rest, however...

Obviously aged sample Greyish white, medium head over reddish brown beer, lazily bubbled. Serious UFO's at the end of bottle. Sweet-sour, lactic acid, hints at acetic, babymilk reflux. Sweet-sour, in a very good balance, and way more fruity than the nose; red fruit and berries. Acidthinning, light acidburn, very slick. Nose has this typical Rodenbach smell when too pungent really unpleasant, but the taste is heaven.

Didn't realise this has a separate entry. Lovely deep clear red, no head. Intense reduced balsamic vinegar and chocolate aroma, some cherries, lemon, almonds. Then it's mellower than that suggests. Low carbonation. Just short of syrupy. Sour, only slightly vinegary (ie less so than Grand Cru). A rumbling malty/ chocolaty richness that's unusual with fruit and wood floating on top. Lovely.

Obviously aged sample No head, reddish-dark Armenian cognac coloured beer. Acetic acid, aniline, wood, sharp nose. Port, pure madeirisation; sweet with balsamico behind. Gives a bit sweetenED impression. Wood, cherries, cherryvinegar and -liqueur. Very slick to oily, absolutely still, sticky. Not the best version. Thanks to Stef!

2016 version Dark cream head, fast reduced to rim, dark reddish brown beer. Sweetish-sour, vulcanized rubber, sulphur, wood. Dry wood, dry black chocolate, finish is lactic and acetic. Burning MF, acidburn and -thinning. Low to medium carbonation. Nose has an unpleasant touch, but the taste remains right on spot.
