Our winter ale will warm your winter with a round toasty body and a vibrant finish of Cascade, Willamette, Fuggles and Goldings hops. A rich ale, this award-winning classic ages well - enjoy its complexity and earthy oakness long after the snow has melted away.

From old tasting notes. Deep ruby red color. Creamy tan head. Fruity roasted malt aroma. Bittersweet malty flavor upfront. Well hopped, ale-like flavor throughout. A real chewy brew with a long pleasing aftertaste.

12 ounce bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a clear red color with a medium creamy tan head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma is a bit odd... caramel malts, hops, vinegar, butter. Taste is caramel, toffee, berries, other fruit notes and bitter, leafy hops. A bit of alcohol warmth as well. Medium bodied.

Overall Impression: Decent winter ale, with a toasty flavor, good effort I guess, but there's something missing that makes it just not work quite right.

This reminds me of Old Jubilation. A very malty beer, and quite dry. Smooth and easy to drink, with a mild hop finish.

Bottled at Akkurat, Stockholm. Clear dark ruby, minimal head. Hoppy nose with grapefruit and red grapes. Dry with clean mouthfeel and medium body. Light roasty coffeeish notes, but hops dominates. Lingering bitter finish. Like a dark APA.
