Bottle from Beer_Hawk; Thanks! Nose of caramel, molasses, and breadiness; clear brown with a small beige head; Flavor of molasses and burnt toast in a medium heavy body, plate and body were really nice, just need to get more flavor and get rid of the burnt taste. I found out while drinking this that Wish used to work in one of Wild Gooses pubs and since they didn’t have their own shirts at that time, the employees wore Budweiser Shirts!

Bottle. Dark color. Nice smooth caramel flavor. A little heavy, espeically for when I drank it, but in the winter this would be a perfect beer to drink to warm up to.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark mahogany color with a large tan head. The aroma is sweet with a fruity hop element and a light earthy undertone. The flavor is sweet and tangy with ripe cherry, molasses and nutmeg. There is an earthy floral hop element on the finish.

Paid $1.65 for a 12-oz single at Wine Warehouse, Charlottesville, VA. Pours dark amber/mahogany with a 1" tanish head. Smells bready, slightly sour, and slightly malty. Flavor is malty, has a tiny bit of dark fruits and maybe orange, with a hint of smoke... and finishes rather peppery. Slight, very light, caramel in the spicy finish as well. Not a bad brew at all, just doesn’t overly excite me.

Pour is a deep red with a smallish white head. Aroma is non-existent but there is a little something there. Flavor is malty, spicy and a bit hoppy in the end. Nothing really stands out or overpowers. Average.

2004 bottle compliments of Bucknaked (I’m drinkin all of his beer!!) Pours a wonderful deep auburn/black cherry red, with a small beige fizzy head. Aroma of crystal malt, light goldings hops, fuggles, earth, dust and yeastiness. Flavor starts out with an artificial carbonation zing which is unpleasant, but quickly jumps in to some english hops, good malt (brown sugar, light raisins and dates). Very solid throughout, but a slight bit of off tastes (sour yeast, a touch too much alcohol). Hops dominate the finish a bit too much for my liking, but it’s malty enough for most of the experience.

Dark brown coloued with a slight opaque quality. Nice tan head that remains for a long while. Nice malt smell, with hints of spice...but still smells somewhat sweet! Medium-bodied with a malt hit and then off to some nice 'roasty' flavours. A good all-around beer for winter-time!

Spices in the aroma. Mild, roasted malts and sweetness in the flavor. A bit on the thin bodied side, but still very good. Not as good as Fuller''s various English Strongs, but VERY close. And the price ($4.99 a six-pack here in NY) makes it a beer that I''m sure I''ll be buying a lot of.
