Backlog. On tap @ BBF 2009. Pink to red color, murky. Big pinkish head, with a remaining layer. Aroma’s: cherries, almonds, a bit dusty, sour, sweet. Flavor is medium sour, cherries, medium sweet. Light bodied. Finishes somewhat dry. Pretty authentic lambic from non-lambic country.

Review from notes, sample from an auction bottle opened at Ebeneezer’s summer 2010, thanks for the opportunity Chris! Pours a lightly hazed light red color with a smallish pink and white head that dissipates quickly. Smells of cherry pie, leather, funk, a bit of lemon and raspberry with a hint of acetic. The flavor is tart with a nice fruity edge to it. Lemons cherries and raspberries meld nicely with a hint of vinegar some leather, oak, and funk. Medium body with a light level of carbonation and a tart puckering mouthfeel. Very nice kriek, it seems to have held up very nicely.

On tap at Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2012. 1983 vintage. An unclear, orange-golden beer topped by a minimal-sized off-white head. Rather oxidized aroma with berries and sourness. Caramel notes too. The flavor too is rather oxidized, with caramel notes, some berries and a pleasant sourness. Medium body, dry and tart, finishing with sourness and oxidation. Trying to look behind the oxidation, I find a beer that was probably very nice some years ago. In this state it’s not very good, even for me who often think some oxidation is nice. Maybe I shouldn’t have rated it, but my ticker-brain can’t resist. 120511

Bottle thanks to Jer. 70% 1983. Pours with a hazed amber hued body with a small tan head. Aromas are musty and funky, cheese, rustic, cherries, acidic, strong horse aromas (apt name I guess), pie cherry, vinous. Flavors show medium to medium low acid, but huge vinous red wine and absolutely massive and intense funk character. Lots of brett. Floral and extremely complex. Bright and elegant. Low bodied, medium carbonation. Very good! #6700.

750 ml bottle shared at the Blue Palms brunch during RBSG. 90% 1983/10% 2005 version. Huge thanks to Jerz for sharing this! Liquid is rusty red/brown with a minimal pinkish head. Aroma is extremely complex with lots of lemons, bit of brett, maybe a hint of the cherries, some oak and oxidization and dust from the age. Taste is absolutely delicous with a puckering but balanced sourness and even more complex flavours with lemons, funk and red fruit. Very balanced sourness. Medium bodied, low to medium carbonation. Really enjoyed it, very complex and balanced.

Kindly shared at RBSG. Never though I would get to try this. Reddish yellow, really funky looking, with lace. Nose of lemon, dust, and a bit of vinegar. Lightly sour flavor, very dusty and funky, with cherry and lemon. Very interesting and less sour than expected. Complex and lovely, though.

Tap at the Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2012. Pours cloudy red with a fine, pink head. Ripe cherries and fructose in the nose. Light to medium sweet flavor with mild tart berries, well ripened, with some bread and light, dank must. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Moderately sweet on the finish, fairly dank with hints of mold, and more cherries. A very nice beer.

Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2012. Cloudy red amber with a lasting white head. Funky aroma with cherry, other red berries and marzipan. Dry, tart and fiunky flavour with cherry notes. Plenty oxidation, but still very drinkable and pleasant
