Draft at the brewpub, Copenhagen. Pours dark brown with a staunch, foamy beige head. Oof, has a great snout! Nice dry and roasty cocoa, some milk chocolate, light coffee. OK flavor follows, lots of dry, dirty cocoa, straight dirt, mild earthy bitterness, slight milk chocolate. Medium bodied with soft, fine, super creamy carbonation. Mouthfeel almost like full fat milk. Light to medium sweet finish, pretty dry, with plenty of roasty cocoa, dirt, burnt toast, tobacco and ash. It’s actually a bit TOO creamy, upon reflection. Needs some sharper bubbles, son. Very decent, dry stout, though.

On tap @ the brewpub. A near black one with a big bubbly and lasting tan head. Quite ashy on the aroma. Lot's of cold coffee, roasted malts, espresso powder and a little bit of really dry chocolate. Nice. Oh my, strange flavors! Tons of ashy cold coffee! Dry chocolate with a mild roastiness all the way before you get a spicy strange flavor! Silky-thin with a creamy texture and a soft carbonation level. A bit unusual, but I liked it. 13.05.2012

On tap. Opaque black with a dense and creamy beige head with good retention leaving a neat lacework. Lightly sweet burned malt aroma. Light body, hard roast maltiness, vanilla notes, and dried dark fruit as well. A slight fusty lingering note - not entirely compromising, but it deducts from the total. Has a slight (non-infected) tartness towards the dry finish. But not a bad quaffer. 070412
